Annual Harbor Clean Up

What a cool event hosted by Dive Alaska. My dive buddy and I were first in the water. The water was clear with a layer of ice on the surface. With a sack in our hand we filled it with glasses, cans, bottles, fishing rods, nets, plastics, down riggers, props, phones and all types of things. Returning to the surface we’d have to break the ice at the surface to drop off the trash on the dock to be emptied by the surface crew then head back down to gather more trash. I know it’s no competition but my dive buddy Brandon and I pulled a few hundred pounds out ourselves. It was quite a workout, for a good cause. Looking forward to next years clean up.
