Our Final Goodbyes

This shot was taken at Ava’s burial two days ago. One of the saddest/happiest images I’ve captured. At the end of her ceremony I took a private moment with Ava and reflected on some key moments.

The love and care Reagan showed Ava. She tried her best to suction her when she needed it. An act of pure compassion for her big sister.

The grace and work ethic Kristen showed. Determined to get Ava outside and offer as many experiences as she could. She understood in the moment that any struggle would be worth it in the end. By going that extra mile we’d be eliminating any future regret. Ava lived her best life because of that.

Ava was such a fighter and endured so much. She was strong even when we as parents weren’t. This whole process would have been much more difficult if it wasn’t for Ava’s strength and endurance.

I’m very proud of my three ladies for the love and strength they’ve shown. Not just for a moment but over time. Most importantly they should be proud of themselves for what they have and will continue to endure.
