2024 NW Regional Emmy® Awards

After three trips over 13 years I finally won.

The first time I went to the NW Emmy awards was in 2011. I got to bring Rich, my Dad, Grandma and Grandpa. I remember how proud my grandma was of me when I took her and she saw just how big of an event it was and that the best of the best were there and I was included. That night we didn’t win the award but just the chance to show her what I was doing was very special.

I went back in 2017 for a PSA about suicide awareness and brought my Dad. We didn’t win the award and I’m not sure who was more upset me or my Dad. I know he really wanted it for me. I was going to dedicate the award to my sister.

In 2024 I went back for the 3rd time. This time with my father-in-law and Rich. I had four nominations for different categories. I had looked over a few of the other nominations and was expecting the first category to pass over as the other films were very good with large crews and big budgets. I was surprised when then showed Ava’s film. After watching so many people get called and walk on stage I was frozen with surprise and almost forgot what to do. After nearly a three year long campaign of getting the film submitted, judged and waiting on the ceremony I got to walk on stage and dedicate this award to our daughter Ava. I won two awards that night. Best Health/Medical content and Best Editor.
